Anyone who enjoys the following conditions may join the Damascus
chamber of commerce:
- Having a commercial registration
- Having a commercial or industrial shop in the city of Damascus and
practicing a trading or industrial profession.
- Who has not been convicted with a capital crime during the last 10
years
Note: registration at the Chamber is not compulsory.
Classifications:
Once registered member of Chamber are classified into five
categories according to their financial capabilities, namely: excellent, first, second,
third and fourth. These categories are made in the light of the following considerations:
- Financial status
- Old membership and commercial reputation
- Honoring undertaking and commitments during pervious years
- Capital allocated to trading, including the value which might be
given to evacuate the commercial chop.
You can lose your membership in the Chamber if you:
- Member became bankrupt.
- Member committed a capital crime
- Member failed to pay his annual subscription fees of over two
successive year.
